Scan-In Overview

What Is It?

This video provides a high-level overview of the scanning in and various features included with the EPCIS and Edge OneScan modules.

When To Use It?

Any of our scan in methods can be used to scan orders against EPCIS data. Which you should choose depends on your individual workflows and SOPs.

Edge Scan-In

What Is It?

This video provides an in-depth walkthrough on how to use the Scan-In (Edge Scan-In) feature to scan in your orders against EPCIS data.

When To Use It?

Edge Scan-In is the "default" option for scanning. It works well if you know the order ID or shipment ID for your order and the same order ID is not used for many orders.

Edge Receive

What Is It?

This video provides an in-depth walkthrough on how to use the Edge Receive function which allows you to pull order information via the SSCC label on your tote.

When To Use It?

Edge Receive is perfect for scenarios where you receive several POs and/or shipment IDs in single totes or cases where the same order ID may be associated with several different orders.

It can also be used to scan in several different totes and/or orders simultaneously and/or sequentially.

If you are having trouble locating the orders in OneScan that correlate to your totes, you can use Edge Receive to locate those orders by scanning the outer SSCC label on your tote.

Unplanned EPCIS

What Is It?

This video provides an in-depth walkthrough on how to use the Unplanned EPCIS function which allows you to scan in orders for which you did not receive an associated EPCIS file for.

When To Use It?

You should use Unplanned EPCIS if you would like to scan in an order you did not receive EPCIS data for.

This feature should not be used if you received EPCIS data for an order. In that case, you should scan against the data you received using the standard Scan In function or Edge Receive.
